Humaster was Selected as Finalist in the ‘2021 Weconomy Startup Challenge’

Humaster Selected as ‘Challenge Startup’ in the 2021 Weconomy Startup Challenge

Humaster (CEO Lee Dae-young) announced on the 25th that it was selected as a “Challenge Startup” in the 2021 Weconomy Startup Challenge, hosted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and organized by the Seoul Business Agency (SBA).

The 2021 Weconomy Startup Challenge is an open innovation program designed to foster collaboration between large/mid-sized enterprises and startups located in Magok Industrial Complex to drive new innovations. Participating corporations this year included Nexen Tire, Toray Advanced Materials Korea, Daewoong Pharmaceutical, Raphas, Lotte Chemical, Bumhan Industries, S-OIL, LG Science Park, and Kolon Industries.

The program’s goal is to match demand-driven technologies with collaboration opportunities across enterprises of all sizes. As a finalist, Humaster will receive tenancy at the Seoul M+ Center and POC (Proof of Concept) funding support. The company will also gain access to direct investment IR sessions hosted by SBA, additional investment support, and programs linked to various corporate support initiatives.

Humaster has already obtained multiple certifications for its desiccant dehumidification technology, including New Excellent Technology (NET, Ministry of SMEs and Startups), Excellent Performance Certification (EPC, Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy), and Green Technology Certification (Ministry of Environment). This year, it also acquired New Excellent Product certification (NEP). Its flagship products, the next-generation humidity-control ventilation purification system “Humicon” and the world’s first moisture-absorbing and releasing paper “Husheet,” are rapidly gaining recognition in the humidity control market.

CEO Lee Dae-young stated:
“Humaster, founded as a research-based startup from the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), succeeded in mass-producing products shortly after being selected among Korea’s Top 10 Mechanical Technologies of 2018. This year, with the establishment of our own factory and registration in the Public Procurement Service’s Venture Nara platform, we are pushing forward full-scale commercialization. With our desiccant dehumidification technology, which is well-suited for ESG management, we aim to collaborate with diverse companies and trusted customers to build a better future together.”
