Humaster announced that sales of its ultra-thin dehumidifying and deodorizing sheet have increased 25 times compared to last year.
The “Moisture-Absorbing Sheet or Husheet” is a semi-permanent dehumidifier developed at the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST). According to Humaster, the product is eco-friendly and provides more than five times the dehumidification performance of conventional inorganic desiccants such as silica gel.
Dehumidifiers are substances that absorb moisture from the air to lower humidity and are generally known as disposable products. Traditionally, materials such as sodium, sulfuric acid, and calcium chloride have been used, but due to leakage risks, silica gel-based dehumidifiers have dominated the market.
Unlike conventional products that simply absorb moisture, Husheet not only lowers humidity but also releases stored moisture during drying, helping maintain humidity within an optimal range. It also offers deodorizing, antibacterial, and antifungal functions.
As a humidity-control company, Humaster has also developed Humicon, a desiccant-based dehumidification, purification, and ventilation system that contributes to ESG management solutions. The company plans to continue introducing innovative products that shift the focus from traditional temperature-based solutions (air conditioners, dehumidifiers, etc.) to humidity-based solutions.
Lee Dae-young, CEO of Humaster, said, “Unlike conventional materials such as silica gel, Husheet is made in sheet form, which means it can be applied to a wide range of daily-use products such as garment covers, cases, and storage boxes. Beyond dehumidification, it also helps eliminate odors—from kimchi in refrigerators to mustiness in shoe cabinets—while providing antibacterial benefits, making it highly versatile.”
