[KOREA BUILD 2019] Humaster Highlights Humidity Over Temperature with Powerful Dehumidifier ‘Humicon’

“In summer, when using an air conditioner, humidity is more important than temperature.”
This is according to Humaster CEO Lee Dae-young, who recently emphasized a shift in perception regarding cooling devices as the company introduced an air conditioner equipped with an ultra-powerful dehumidification function.

For example, the perceived temperature in a room at 24°C with 60% humidity can feel the same as 28°C with humidity reduced to 30%—showing just how significantly humidity affects thermal comfort.

Against this backdrop, Humaster showcased its total indoor air environment service “Humicon” at Korea Build, Korea’s leading architecture exhibition, held at COEX in Seoul from July 4 (Thu) to 7 (Sun).

The product applies a polymer moisture filter with more than five times the moisture absorption capacity of silica gel, enabling powerful dehumidification. Its strength lies in offering an alternative to the traditional method of running an air conditioner at low temperatures for extended periods.

Another feature of the polymer moisture filter is its ability to achieve latent heat exchange efficiency equivalent to sensible heat exchange. This supports not only heat recovery but also moisture recovery during ventilation.

As a result, users can ventilate frequently while running the air conditioner without latent heat loss, and even with doors open, the system can function as a clothes dryer, according to company representatives.

Meanwhile, Korea Build is the new brand name of KyungHyang Housing Fair, the nation’s largest and longest-running comprehensive exhibition for architecture and housing. With the motto “Everything about materials, technologies, and designs for architecture, remodeling, and interior design,” the event brought together 350 domestic and international companies across more than 900 booths, presenting the latest trends in construction and building for the second half of the year.

The International Pavilion featured 31 companies from Thailand, Taiwan, China, and Iran, including the India Ceramic Pavilion with 10 renowned ceramic tile companies such as Comet and Metropole Tiles.

Additionally, the 2019 Design Build Conference, held alongside the exhibition, featured top-level speakers such as Min Sung-jin (CEO, SKM Architects), Kim Jong-ho (CEO, Design Studio), and Keiichi Ito (General Manager, UDS Co., Ltd.), providing practical insights and valuable business knowledge for professionals.
